Este artículo analiza la novela Un verdor terrible, del escritor chileno Benjamín Labatut, desde la perspectiva del Antropoceno a través de la narración de diferentes descubrimientos científicos, que, paradójicamente, fueron concebidos para beneficiar a la humanidad, pero terminaron convirtiéndose en instrumentos de destrucción masiva, lo que revela la fragilidad del supuesto control humano sobre las innovaciones científicas.
This article analyzes the novel Un verdor terrible by the chilean author Benjamín Labatut from the perspective of the Anthropocene, through the narration of various discoveries in science which, paradoxically, had been designed to benefit humanity but ultimately turned into tools of mass destruction, revealing the fragility of humanity’s supposed control over scientific innovations.
